The L298N dual H-bridge driver module controls two brushed DC motors, a single bipolar stepper motor, or inductive loads such as relays and solenoids. Direction comes from logic inputs while PWM on the enable pin sets speed, with the IC rated by ST for up to 46 V and 2 A per bridge. Its bipolar output stage drops a significant voltage, so usable motor voltage and current are lower than the headline ratings.
