The CD4017B is a CMOS five-stage Johnson counter with ten decoded outputs, only one of which is active at a time. Clock, reset and clock-inhibit inputs control the count, and the device operates from 3 V to 18 V. It is commonly used in sequencers, LED chasers and divide-by-ten circuits.
