Compact power module using an AMS1117-family fixed 3.3 V low-dropout linear regulator to produce a regulated 3.3 V rail from a higher DC input. Usable output current depends on input voltage and board cooling, since the surplus voltage is dissipated as heat. It is a linear regulator rather than a switching buck converter.
