A 16-character by 2-line LCD with green backlight and an I2C backpack that reduces wiring to two signal lines plus power and ground. Because the backpack address and expander IC vary between suppliers, an address scan and contrast adjustment may be needed during setup. Common uses include menus, measurement readouts and status displays.
